This semester sets the foundations for strategic decision-making and provides insights into the complex relationships between finance and strategy. Advanced courses in Corporate and Real-Estate Finance, Hospitality Business Strategies in Europe, Middle East & Africa, as well as Business Research Methods and Project Management give students the tools to make sound corporate investment, financing and strategic decisions. The knowledge gained during these courses allows students to set up their business consulting projects (a prerequisite for their capstone project).
Semester 2: Hong-Kong
Students will explore the core subjects of strategic decision making within operations management: Revenue, Marketing, and Service Quality Management. Key concepts in each subject area are practically applied. Students will also learn about strategic decision making in a regional context due to contemporary issues and specificities in the evolution and development of Asia Pacific’s hospitality and tourism industry.
Semester 3: Houston
This semester combines the science and practice of leadership and organizational behavior with the managerial ability to manage the design, implementation, and functionality of the most innovative IT systems in hospitality. With a particular focus on North America, South America, Central America and the Caribbean, students will also experience how to manage and strategically behave in maturing and growing market environments.
